Thy Will Be Done By Michael Carey

Thy Will Be Done is the story of two brothers, Jack and Peteen who live side by side but haven’t spoken in 40 years. There is a failed marriage with a wife emigrating to America just before their son was born, never to return. Years later their son, Martin, returns from America to help work on the family’s west of Ireland farm. Gradually this son’s difficulty dealing with his Father’s and Uncle’s hatred of each other reveals many home truths. Bridie is the home help, a definite busybody with an obsession for a statue!! She has a lot of character and deep down she has the best interests of those she cares about at heart. The truth is painful at times but Thy Will Be Done provides many comedic moments and typically of Michael Carey his script delivers much humour.
